Kealakekua Bay is a 2-minute walk from Manini Point House with easy access to the bay, a lovely little sandy beach and picnic area. Snorkel, swim and enjoy a kayaking tour. Kealakekua Bay is a marine sanctuary and home to spinner dolphins, humpback whales, sea turtles, colorful fish and beautiful coral reefs. Napoopoo Beach, also on the bay, is a state park full of history and one of the the oldest Hawaiian settlements on the Big Island.  Keei Beach, within walking distance, is a white sand beach, Hawaiian community and a favorite local surfing spot.

Just a 5-minute drive from Manini Point House is Pu’uhonua O Honaunau--City of Refuge--a significant National Park. Narrated sightseeing on sandy trails tells the story of this historical place.  While you are there, swim at “Two Step” for an amazing snorkeling, swimming or scuba diving experience.
